Steering Committee

Through active and visible leadership, the Steering Committee leads the Arkansas Health Connector Division planning efforts. Established in April 2012, the Committee provides oversight, manages collaborations and authorizes resources.  Committee members represent a diverse group of stakeholders, including elected and appointed government officials, consumer advocacy groups, health care providers and private insurance industry.  Committee meetings are held monthly and open to the public.

Consumer Assistance Advisory Committee

The Consumer Assistance Advisory Committee, established in May 2012, guides the policy and planning for consumer outreach and education. Their work focuses on the In-Person Assister/Guides  program and consumer complaint resolution. The Committee makes recommendations to the Steering Committee. Committee meetings are held monthly and open to the public.

Plan Management Committee

The Plan Management Advisory Committee reviews and recommends policy for qualified health plans (QHP) and Arkansas Health Connector Division planning.  Their work helps ensure that health insurance plans meet the needs of Arkansas residents and small businesses. The Committee makes policy recommendations to the Steering Committee on the following: 

  • Essential Health Benefits Benchmark
  • Plan Certification, Recertification and Decertification Standards
  • Health Disparity Reduction
  • Pricing of Dental and Vision Plan
  • Plan Choice Architecture

Plan Year 2015 QHP Purchasing Guidelines

Committee meetings are held monthly and open to the public.
